How You Can Help
Endowment
St. Louis Center has been successful in keeping our doors open by establishing many fundraising events, and also through the generous support of our many donors and event sponsors. However, our long-term goal is not just to break even, but also to be able to expand our facilities and programs so that we can accommodate a broader range of disabilities and needs. As an example, many more of our residents could successfully make the transition to independent living if we could provide transitional services to prepare them for the communities where they will live. This can best be done if we establish transitional facilities in the residential neighborhoods where they will eventually live.
Currently, most of the dollars we raise from our fundraisers are used to maintain our current programs and facilities. Our long-term goal is to establish a significant endowment fund to cover these necessary expenses, which will allow us to use fundraising dollars to expand our reach into programs such as the one described above. To cover these needs, our endowment must grow to an estimated $10 million. Currently, we have only a fraction of that amount.
The endowment is directed and managed by an independent Board of Directors, with the goal of preserving capital and optimizing return to St. Louis Center. Gifts can be made to the fund through direct contributions, stock or securities, retirement funds, annuities, estates, and many other asset vehicles. If you have any questions about this fund, please ask us.
