Facilities
Overview
St. Louis Center Provides residential foster care for boys, men and women with intellectual developmental disabilities. As part of our operation, we manage four licensed group homes.
- St. Louis Center’s main building is licensed for the care of children ages 6 through 17, and is considered a “child caring institution” under the guidelines of Michigan Public Act 117 of 1973, as amended.
- We also possess three licenses for adult foster care facilities for persons with developmental disabilities within the guidelines of Michigan Public Act 218 of 1979, as amended; also known as the “Adult Foster Care Licensing Act.”
- Knights of Columbus Hall – is for individuals who are severely mentally impaired (unable to provide basic self-care).
- St. Joseph Hall – is for individuals who are educable mentally impaired, and with proper support, can become independent and function at nearly a normal level.
- Fr. Guanella Hall – is for individuals who are trainable mentally impaired, needing support and reinforcement to provide basic self-care, can earn, obtain, and maintain employment.
Children and Adult Programs
- Units 1 & 2: Early Intervention – Children’s program, foster care. Ages 6-14 depending on functioning level. Maximum placement is 20 beds.
- Sage Hall: Children’s program, foster care. Independent adolescent unit, ages 9-17 years, depending on functioning level. Maximum placement is 10 beds.
- Martin Hall: Children’s program, foster care. Highest level of independent adolescents. Ages 14-18 years depending on functioning level. Maximum placement is 10 beds.
- Knights of Columbus Hall Adult Continuous Care Program: Adult program, foster care. Persons with developmental disabilities who require continuous training in daily skills. Ages 18 and up. Maximum placement is 13 beds.
- Fr. Guanella Hall – Our Lady of Providence: Adult female program, foster care. Ages 18 and up. Maximum placement is 10 beds.
- Fr. Guanella Hall – Adult program, foster care. Persons with intellectual developmental disabilities, independent living skills – Phase #1. Ages 18 and up. Maximum placement is 10 beds.
- St. Joseph’s Hall – Adult program, foster care. Persons with intellectual developmental disabilities, independent living community, Ready Skills Phase #3, with possible transition into community living. Ages 18 and over, with maximum placement at 20 beds.
